My Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. Please read below as to why I'm doing this challenge and how your donations can help.

Finding out you have pancreatic cancer is shattering.

In March 2020 I lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer, 2 years after he was diagnosed.  We know that we were lucky to have had this length of time with him as most families don't get this.

It is the deadliest common cancer. The brutal reality is that diagnosis comes far too late for most people. Half of people die within three months of diagnosis. So, families are left with only hope to hang on to.

But hope is not enough. The disease must be detected sooner.

And it can be.

Thanks to the work of the dedicated researchers at Pancreatic Cancer UK, a simple test to detect the cancer earlier is within reach. It just needs more funding.

This is not the first time I've fundraised for Pancreatic Cancer UK and it certainly will not be the last!! The charity desperately needs all the funds it can get to help with finding a way to detect this cancer sooner and to give families more time with loved ones.

With people running, cheering and raising funds to support this research, together we can save as many lives as runners in this great race.

We will give it our all. We will not give up. And we will cross that finish line.

Thank you for supporting this charity which is so close to our family's hearts 💜
