She’s running a marathon!

My Story
Well, it was bound to happen eventually right?!
Maybe it's a quarter life crisis, maybe it's seeing my mum go from complete beginner to smashing out a marathon last year, who knows? But this is possibly the single hardest challenge I've set myself and I hope the most rewarding and effective way to raise money and awareness for a charity so close to my heart.
No To Dog Meat rescues dogs and cats from the meat trade abroad. They care for the animals in their shelters in china and rehome them with loving families across the world. The animals are rescued in various capacities, some rescues are directly from the Yulin Festivial where thousands of dogs and cats are butchered for their meat, some rescues happen at pet shops where dogs are left by their owners to spend their lives in cages, and some, like our boy Rupert, are rescued directly from restaurants as their owners try to sell them on.
Your donations and support helps feed, house and heat the shelters where over 700 cats and dogs are living. Some of the biggest costs to the charity include vet bills, specialist care for dogs with disabilities and health problems, as well as supporting the infrastructure becoming damaged from annual flooding in various provinces in China.
The charity is run on a volunteer basis, it has amazing kind heart people over in China helping to both rescue the dogs and keep the shelters running. In the UK, I have been getting involved with various events and fundraising campaigns to offer my support and try boost awareness for the incredible work that Julia and her team are doing.
June 2024, myself and my mum went to Paris to pick up Rupert, our very own meat trade survivor. He's the sweetest boy, loves people and truly completes the pack of dogs running about the house. Like all of the meat trade survivors I've met, these animals clearly understand how different their lives are and in spite of the trauma they have endured, the love we give we receive back ten fold.
You can help us give these animals the life they deserve.
